9/4-14/4/2008
After a few months of hard work :) and help by our tutor Gorkem, we sent our observership application to the board. Once we finished with with all the university issues and all our problems were dealt with, we got on a ship to Athens (Christos and Dimitris) to start the journey! We flew from Athens to Zurich and then to Hamburg, only to find that we were a night early. At least, we made the most out of it and got a first taste of the famous Reeperbahn! Later in the day we got bask to the hostel to meet our roommates whose names were Mert and Victor. Then, a couple of dull and boring days followed at the G.A, where the representative of Graz tried to assasinate Dimitris twice, with a cup of coffee and a water bottle.
One of the days included a city tour, lots of walking but it was good to get to know folk better. We saw the impressive underwater tunnel and took a boat trip down the river. At the same night was the pirate party, with quite some fantasy by some:)
And then came the big moment on the 12th, where we presented our application and fascinated all the people that were awake and sober with our magic tea-bag. A warm applause well deserved (thank you guys). The following day, we became the new observers for ESTIEM, along with Aachen with a 47-1(grrr) voting percentage. All in all, Hamburg was a nice city which smells beer everywhere, lots of night life for all tastes and good greek restaurants!!! The CM was fun and we came back with a whole load of msn addresses, mainly from Turkish friends(Serefe!) Now, to get us started for the membership application as soon as possible...
To be continued!
